There are various transportation options.

By air:

In July 2001a new Airport was opened in Valença , Bahia. It takes about 35 minutes to arrive at Morro de Sao Paulo.
There are direct flights several times a day from the airport in Salvador to the island. The Tinare airport lies on the other side of the island . To get to the houses you need to take a local transport and walk aproximately forty minutes. That makes fllying from Salvador less convenient.

By sea:

Take the Catamaran at the port directly in front of the Mercado Modelo in Salvador, Bahia. It takes you aproximately 2 hours to get to Morro de Sao Paulo.

By sea and land combined:

You can take the hourly ferryboat at the Terminal Maritimo SSA , to Bom Despacho on the island of Itaparica. The ferry trip is about 1 hour. From there you go by bus or taxi to Valença which takes 2 hours. From Valença you can get a speed boat (30 min) or a traditional fishermens boat (1:30 min) or the ferryboat Brisa Biônica (1:30) to Morro de Sao Paulo.
